World Chain Integrates Native USDC Support, Phasing Out Bridged Tokens

Circle''s USDC stablecoin has achieved native integration on World Chain, the blockchain initiative supported by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. This upgrade replaces bridged USDC tokens with direct Circle-issued assets, enhancing security and liquidity within the World ecosystem.

The transition capitalizes on recent momentum for both entities. Circle went public on the NYSE, while Worldcoin expanded U.S. operations despite regulatory challenges. Over 27 million users across 160 countries now gain access to fully collateralized stablecoins backed by Circle''s reserves of cash and U.S. Treasuries.

Nearly two million World App users previously holding bridged USDC have been automatically migrated to the native version. The MOVE eliminates counterparty risks associated with cross-chain bridges while strengthening regulatory compliance for one of crypto''s most widely-used dollar proxies.
